【摘要】:Cyanideisroutinelyanalyzedinwatersamples,oftentodemonstrateregulatorycompliance;however,impropersamplecollectionorpretreatmentcanresultinsignificantpositiveornegativebiaspotentiallyresultinginunnecessarypermitviolationsorundetectedcyanidereleasesintotheenvironment.1.1Thispracticeisapplicableforthecollectionandpreservationofwatersamplesfortheanalysisofcyanide.Thispracticeaddressesthemitigationofknowninterferencespriortotheanalysisofcyanide.Responsibilitiesoffieldsamplingpersonnelandthelaboratoryareindicated.1.2Thesampling,preservationandmitigationofinterferenceproceduresdescribedinthispracticearerecommendedfortheanalysisoftotalcyanide,availablecyanide,weakaciddissociablecyanide,andfreecyanidebyTestMethodsD2036,D4282,D4374,D6888,D6994,D7237,D7284,andD7511.Theinformationsuppliedinthispracticecanalsobeappliedtootheranalyticalmethodsforcyanide,forexample,EPAMethod335.4.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
